Founder & Chairman, China Vanke and Practice Professor, NUS

Prof Wang Shi is the Chairman and Founder of China Vanke Co., Ltd. Since he founded and l ed Vanke in 1984, he profoundly shaped Vanke's corporate visions, ethics and management strategies. Under his leadership, Vanke has grown into the world's largest residential home developer by sales revenue and China's pioneer in green home construction.

In recent years, Prof Wang led environmental initiatives among Chinese private sector companies particularly in the areas of natural habitat conservation, garbage recycling, and forest conservation. In 2004, he co-founded Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology, China's largest environmental network involving 200 private sector entrepreneurs. With a global vision of environmental sustainability inspired by his adventures, He sits on the board of World Wildlife Fund US and the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Governance for Sustainability, with particular focus on forest, biodiversity, and climate change.

Prof Wang studied at Harvard University as a visiting scholar from 2011-2013. He is now a visiting fellow at University of Cambridge, studying business value and Judaism. He is Professor in Practice at National University of Singapore and Peking University and has given lectures at prestigious universities around the world including Harvard University, MIT and Columbia.
