Cycle and Carriage Professorship

In conjunction with its 85th anniversary celebrations, Cycle & Carriage made a gift of $1.5 million to NUS in 1983 to endow a Cycle & Carriage Professorship at the NUS Business School. Cycle & Carriage is one of the premier automotive groups in Singapore. It is involved in the retail, distribution and provision of after-sales service for Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Kia and Citroën passenger and commercial motor vehicles.

Professor Duan Jin-Chuan is appointed under this professorship.

James Riady Distinguished Professorship

James Riady Distinguished Professorship was established with a generous gift of $3 million from the Lippo Group in 2007. This Professorship is named in honour of Dr James Riady, Chief Executive Officer of Lippo Group of Companies. The Lippo Group represents an established Asian business conglomerate with diversified interests in financial investment, property and urban development, retail business, healthcare, education, information technology and other industries.

Professor Randall Morck is appointed under this professorship.

Lim Kim San Professorship in Business Policy

The Lim Kim San Professorship in Business Policy at the NUS Business School was launched in October 2000 to honour Mr Lim Kim San, eminent alumnus ’39 and the then the Chairman of Singapore Press Holdings, for his outstanding contributions to Singapore. The fund was made possible by several benefactors with the Singapore Press Holdings Ltd taking the initiative. The fundraising initiative was led by Dr Wee Cho Yaw, the present Chairman of United Overseas Bank Limited

Low Tuck Kwong Distinguished Professorship

Donated by Dato' Low Tuck Kwong, Founder and Chairman of PT Bayan Resources in 2011, the endowed Low Tuck Kwong Distinguished Professorship was established with a generous gift of $3 million. This professorship will enable the School to appoint a leading academic who has demonstrated excellence and international recognition in the field of Finance, Accounting or Business Strategy.

Mr. & Mrs. Lin Jo Yan Professorship

The Mr. & Mrs. Lin Jo Yan Professorship is made possible by an anonymous donor with an endowed gift of $2 million in 2014. The Professorship enables the School to attract world-class faculty member who will not only conduct impactful research, but also provide excellent finance education to our students and groom them to meet the demands of the financial industry in Singapore and the region.

Professor David Reeb is appointed under this professorship.

Musim Mas Professorship in Sustainability

Through a generous gift of $2.27 million from the Musim Mas Group, the endowed Musim Mas Professorship in Sustainability was launched on 15 November 2010. Musim Mas Group is a fully integrated palm oil corporation with operations spanning the entire palm oil value chain. The Group is ranked third in the world by the total volume of palm oil products handled.

Professor Li Zhen is appointed under this professorship.

OSIM Professorship in Branding and Strategic Marketing

In 2003, Mr Ron Sim, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OSIM International Limited was awarded the Businessman of the Year. He was commended for his outstanding entrepreneurial drive and vision, which has successfully built OSIM’s own label of healthy products into a leading international brand with businesses in over 20 countries. Recognising the importance of branding, Mr Sim made a gift of$1.5 million in the same year to set up the OSIM Professorship in Branding and Strategic Marketing.

Professor Ganesh Iyer is appointed under this professorship.

Stephen Riady Distinguished Professorship

Stephen Riady Distinguished Professorship was established with a generous gift of $3 million from the Lippo Group in 2007. This Professorship is named in honour of Dr Stephen Riady, President of Lippo Group of Companies. The Lippo Group represents an established Asian business conglomerate with diversified interests in financial investment, property and urban development, retail business, healthcare, education, information technology and other industries.

Professor Bernard Yeung, Dean of NUS Business School is appointed under this professorship.

Tang Peng Yeu Visiting Professorship in Accountancy

In March 1994, at the 10th year anniversary of the passing of Mr Tang Peng Yeu, an accountant who is known for his unstinting service to the community and remembered as a generous champion of education, several family members of the Tang Peng Yeu family made a collective gift of $1 million to the NUS Business School.  The gift made possible the establishment of the Tang Peng Yeu Visiting Professorship in Accountancy.
