As lifestyles in emerging countries continue to improve due to higher disposable incomes, the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (particularly cardiovascular diseases) and consequently the demand for superior healthcare services and products is increasing. While Medtronic recognizes that healthcare in emerging markets carries the highest latent growth potential, Vietnam has been a dynamic and tough market to build. It has become critical to understand why, in a country where 33% of all deaths were attributable to cardiovascular diseases, people are not getting the life-saving therapies that they need, and how Medtronic could bridge this gap in a sustainable and scalable manner. However, as Medtronic repositions from a product seller to a solutions-provider, we recognize the growing role of digital technologies and innovative business models influencing and accelerating access across the care continuum. The challenges in Vietnam, stemming from a precarious regulatory regime, a fledgling public reimbursement system, low awareness within the population, limited access to facilities, and a dearth of trained physicians, call for innovation. Harness your business acumen, your insights on healthcare and technology and help us answer this question:

“How do we accelerate access to care for the many untreated cardiac patients in Vietnam?”

We seek an implementable business plan for Medtronic in the cathlab ecosystem -- within the context of the technology landscape, healthcare infrastructure, market dynamics and prevalent diagnostic and healthcare delivery pathway in Vietnam. Download case

Daimler Financial Services

China is set to impact the fortunes of many vehicle manufacturers in the world by becoming the second-largest market for automobiles in 2015. As Daimler strives to become the brand of choice in this growing market, Daimler Financial Services aims to contribute to its sales and financial success by becoming the finest provider of financial and mobility services. Already, the attractiveness of its financial products is highlighted by the several awards presented by renowned Chinese magazine Moneyweek. However, a bigger opportunity faces DFS by capturing the attention and loyalty of the generation which will dominate consumer buying in years to come, the Millennials. This generation embraces innovation and is used to disruption in the face of rapid and unceasing technological advancements. For them, the appeal of access overtakes the appeal of ownership and innovation is not a differentiator, it is a must. Looking forward in an ever-evolving landscape, DFS has to look for strategies that look to attract this segment and capture the largest piece of this growing pie. So, how would DFS offer unique experiences to the Chinese Millennials? What innovative products and services will empower this generation? How can DFS earn their loyalty and fulfil its commitment to excellence? Download case
