Sarah Cheah

Sarah Cheah is Associate Professor with the NUS Business School, with research and practice in innovation and entrepreneurship and early-stage technology development and commercialisation. Besides advising at the Singapore Institute of Technology Lean Transformation Innovation Centre, Dr Cheah has provided consultancy to the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) on technology road-mapping, Exploit Technologies (ETPL) on Diagnostics Ecosystem Study and the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) on Futurescape 2025 programme. Dr Cheah held senior management positions in both the public and private sectors in high-technology industries, with focus on intellectual property (IP), spin-off and technology commercialisation matters.


Soat Ching
Senior Lecturer of Accounting
See Tho Soat Ching

See Tho Soat Ching is a Senior Lecturer with the NUS Business School and a Residential Fellow with Ridge View Residential College.  She is a Chartered Accountant in Singapore and also holds professional memberships as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (USA) and in the Information Systems Audit and Controls Association (USA).  Apart from her core teaching areas in Accounting Information Systems and Managerial Accounting, Susan actively mentors students in practical field research in various organizations, from which a significant segment relates to welfare organizations.  As a Residential Fellow, she champions service learning initiatives and programmes which involve community giving.  Prior to joining NUS full time, Susan spent more than 10 years in full-time practice, mainly in business planning, business analytics and performance management, as well as in continuing education and lifelong learning for working adults.



Associate Professor of Finance
Ruth Tan

Ruth Tan is an associate professor who has been with the National University of Singapore Business School since 1999. She is an affiliate faculty member of ASCEP and has led the Singapore Charity Corporate Governance Award project in collaboration with the Charity Council under Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore from 2011 to 2014. She has written and published several teaching cases on charitable organisations such as Singapore Association for Mental Health, Society for the Physically Disabled, and YMCA.


Albert Chu-Ying Teo
Associate Professor of Management & Organisations
Albert Teo

Albert Teo is an associate professor in the Department of Management & Organization, Business School, National University of Singapore (NUS). He has a joint appointment with the NUS University Scholars Programme, and serves as a deputy director of the programme. He set up the NUS Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Programme in 2011, and serves as the director of the programme. Albert received his Ph.D. degree from the Walter A Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. His current research interests are in the areas of social entrepreneurship, voluntarism, organizational ecology, and social networks. He has published in journals such as Academy of Management JournalOrganization Science, and Industrial and Corporate Change. Albert is actively involved in community service. He is a volunteer programme coordinator in Communicable Disease Centre. He serves as an advisor to the following non-profits: ASKI Global, BagoSphere, Nusantara Development Initiatives, and Solutions To End Poverty. He also sits on various government-appointed committees that oversee programme funding in the social services sector.

Weina Zhang

Weina Zhang is the Research Director of Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy (ACSEP) and the Visiting Senior Fellow of Finance at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School. She has worked on several industry research projects sponsored by National Youth Council of Singapore, Singapore Centre for Social Enterprises, and Tote Board etc. She has presented in several international conferences and workshops on social entrepreneurship and/or philanthropy. She has published several journal papers, applied research papers and reports on these related topics as well.
