Singapore, a dynamic city and a well-known financial hub, offers an exciting yet harmonious blend of culture, cuisine, arts and architecture. Strategically located in the heart of Southeast Asia, Singapore continues to embrace tradition and modernity where countless unique and memorable experiences are waiting to be discovered.
The city-state is safe and orderly. It is also recognised as one of the cleanest and greenest cities in the world. It has an efficient and affordable public transport system, and its healthcare services are world-class.
Numerous schools cater to the education needs of expatriate children while its local schooling system has achieved academic distinction. All these combine to make Singapore a great place to raise a family.
The leisure and sporting scene is thriving and growing. Singapore is a gastronomic draw, with a lively dining and entertainment scene that offers some of the best cuisine in Asia, as well as unique street food. The nightlife and hospitality scene will get a further boost in 2009 and 2010 with the arrival of two integrated resorts.
Singapore’s warm weather makes all-year-round water and outdoor sports possible. There are a wide variety of well-tended green spaces and exercise facilities such as the East Coast Park and the Botanical Gardens. Singapore is also ploughing resources into state-of-the-art sporting facilities such as the Sports Hub in Kallang, which will be ready in 2011.
All these fuse to produce a living environment that is considered the best in Asia (Mercer Human Resource Consulting, 2007).

While there are many reasons why Singapore is the top destination for foreign students, here is what our students have to say:
- Where Home Meets World
"Just three hours by flight from Vietnam, Singapore is like another home close to my home where anyone can comfortably settle down. Yet, it opens up numerous opportunities to meet people from all over the world, understand different cultures, start a challenging career or even take up new hobbies. It is indeed a gateway to explore the world further."
- Le Thi Hong (Vietnam), MBA Class of 2006
- Something Old, Something New
"East meets West. This describes Singapore best. Different cultures coexist harmoniously here under a developed economy. It is as though different colours were put randomly together to form an unexpectedly beautiful picture. So wherever you are from, you will find something familiar for you to feel comfortable. Yet there is something different for you to experience and learn new things."
- Tang Lin (China), MBA Class of 2006
- A Global Influence
"I find Singapore an outstanding country with an impressive history, considering its age as an independent nation. It has a wide range of cultures that have shaped it to be what it is today. I find it astonishing - the speed at which Singapore has become such an influence in the world."
- Sharmen Andrew (Canada), MBA Exchange Student, Class of 2004
- Perfect Balance
"For me, Singapore offers the perfect balance of being familiar and comfortable. I am not totally lost and out of place. Yet it different enough and I know that I am not at home. Of course, like other foreigners from the West, I also appreciate the fact that English is widely used."
- Stephen P Maxner (USA), MBA Exchange Student, Class of 2004
- Jobs, Jobs, Jobs
"Singapore is a financial hub and a business epicentre for most MNCs, and thus a natural outlet for MBAs. On top of that, the emerging economies in the surrounding region, the close economic ties within ASEAN, and the premium placed on a localised Asian knowledge create a broader job market for NUS graduates."
- Philip B Docena (Philippines), MBA Class of 2004
- Safe & Sound
"You can walk around at 4 AM and still feel safe."
- Leslie Go Alcantara (Philippines), MBA Class of 1997

“O NUS MBA é uma das mais acertadas escolhas para educação e carreira no mundo dos negócios. É o único capaz de reunir a excelência acadêmica dos top MBA globais e estar no olho do furacão da próxima revolução: a Ásia. Estudar em Singapura e poder vivenciar em primeira mão a convergência e a síntese entre o ocidente e o oriente em seus diversos âmbitos: social, cultural, econômico e empresarial. Tudo isso estando em um dos países mais cosmopolitas do mundo.”

Jayson Huang Chung-En, Taiwanese, Class of 2011

|
“Undoubtedly, many Taiwanese would take the MBA Programme in USA or in Europe as their first priority, but I chose a different way to extend my career path. Job opportunities are more accessible in Asia, and in Singapore, the NUS MBA programme holds such a great position with geographic benefits, professional faculty, Asia-focus know-how, international students, aggressive career services, and abundant resources.”

“The NUS MBA is one of the best choices for education and career in the business world today. It’s the only one able to unite the top academic excellence to be in the middle of the next revolution: Asia. Studying in Singapore means experiencing firsthand the convergence and the synergy between the west and east in multiple perspectives: social, cultural, economic and business. Everything is contained in one of the most cosmopolitan and business oriented countries in the world.”
