Within just a few years of starting operations, Asiatravel.com was rated as one of the most popular sites for online travel and was regularly listed in the hot100.com global rankings. In 2000, the company bagged the 2nd spot in the coveted Enterprise 50 Dotcom awards of Singapore. The new millennium was particularly eventful as Asia Travel was successfully listed on the SGX-SESDAQ on 11th April 2001. Since then, there has been no looking back. Mr. Boh Tuang Poh, CEO

Mr. Boh Tuang Poh is the founder of Asiatravel.com. He currently holds the position of Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to this, he was a senior manager in Mitutoyu Asia Pacific Pte Ltd where he managed a team of sales and marketing staff in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and India form 1990 to mid 1994. Mitutoyu Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is the regional headquarters of Mitutoyu Corp in Japan, which is the world’s largest manufacturer of precision measuring instruments. Mr. Boh spent the second part of 1994 establishing and managing International Metrology Co. Ltd (Thailand), a dealer and agent of precision measuring instruments in Thailand. At the same time, Mr. Boh took an active role in Asia Internet Online Publishing Pte Ltd, an Internet trade and directory business.

Asiatravel.com started its operations on 15 September 1995, Mr. Boh has been responsible for its overall profitability, business strategies and expansion plan. Under his leadership, Asiatravel.com was listed in SGX-SESDAQ on 11th April 2001. Currently Asiatravel.com has expanded across Asia and Middle East, with offices servicing customers from all over the world.

Since 2001, Mr. Boh has transformed Asiatravel.com from an online hotel reservation website to a total travel reservation service provider. Currently, Asiatravel.com’s online products include worldwide hotel reservation, air-ticketing, travel insurance and tour packages. Bookings for all products can be confirmed instantly over in the Internet.

Dr. Dora Hoan, Group Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Dr Dora Hoan is one of the founders of the Group. She is responsible for the overall management of the Group’s operations, charting the strategic directions of the Group as well as the development of the Group’s business including its overseas expansion. Dr Hoan graduated from the then Nanyang University with a Bachelor Degree in Arts in 1975 and obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and a Ph.D in Business Administration from the Western Pacific University, USA in 2002. She was also awarded an Honorary Ph.D from Kennedy Western University, USA.

Dr. Doreen Tan, Chairman

Dr Doreen Tan is one of the founders of the Group. She manages the overall business operations of the Group, with particular focus on product development and training. In 1997, Dr Tan was elected as Research Associate in Biological Medicine, and was conferred a Fellowship by the Faculty of Occidental Institute Research Foundation, British Columbia, Canada. She holds a degree in Applied Nutrition from the American Academy of Nutrition and has an Honorary Ph.D from the Kennedy Western University, USA.

HealthSTATS International is a bio-monitoring medical device company dedicated to technology research and product development of innovative medical devices to provide doctors and patients with an evidence-based approach to monitoring and management of hypertension and related illnesses. It is a privately held Singapore-based technology company with principal activities in research & development, sales & marketing of innovative bio-monitoring devices for hypertension and related illnesses.

It’s patented 24-hr ABPM and Pulse Wave technologies are both novel. These revolutionary technologies are expected to change the ways hypertension is being measured and diagnosed. Their Products include: Bpro®, BproSoft™, A-Pulse CASP™, Avidenz®, Pulse Traxer™ and MC3100™.

Their Bpro® portable continuous blood pressure monitoring device with its innovative technology of monitoring blood pressure has the potential to reduce the risk of a sudden heart attack or stroke. Avidenz™ is a non – invasive blood pressure monitor used in ICU’s and operating theatres during surgery.

The company has been granted ISO13485 and ISO9001. It is the first Singaporean company to be granted FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approval for its bio-monitoring device. Its key bio-monitoring product, BPro®, has received US FDA, Europe CE (MDD), China SFDA, Australia TGA and Singapore HSA regulatory approvals.

BPro™ has been validated independently by the Clinical Trials and Epidemiology Research Unit (CTERU) in compliance with protocols set by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and European Society of Hypertension (ESH) for accuracy.

HealthSTATS was founded in 2000 by Dr. Ting Choon Meng, along with two partners. Driven by the desire to find the missing link and to solve this problem of hypertension with the patient’s welfare as its cornerstone, Dr. Ting founded HealthSTATS International. This missing link is based on using a combination of 24-hr Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring [ABPM] and Arterial Pulse waveform [A-PULSE] with evidence-based approach to the treatment & management of hypertension and its target organs.

Dr Ting: Founder and Executive Chairman

As a major founder of the company, he is responsible for developing the medical concept and bringing EVBP™ Technology to its fruition. He has the overall responsibility of setting the corporate goals for the company and bringing the company products to full commercialization. Dr. Ting earned his MBBS (Singapore) in 1984 and has been practising as a private family physician for over 20 years. His other inventions include a non-invasive blood glucose measurement monitor, a smart needle for intra-articular injection and a mobile ER vehicle for mass casualty that has become the standard deployment for Singapore Homeland Force. He pioneered the Viscosupplementation technique for the treatment of OA knees in 1991 which he has since performed on more than 25,000 knees, and consequently written a book on the subject entitled “Advancing Viscosupplementation: A Handbook on Viscosupplementation for OA Knees” for doctors. Dr. Ting is currently on the government board of EDB and A*Star as an advisor on investment in start-up companies.Dr. Ting was invited to the World Economic Forum 2007, Switzerland for a round table disccusion with Bill Gates.

Mr Hau Tau Kwang - Deputy Chairman, Director and Founder

An experienced entrepreneur, Mr Hau provides guidance and professional wisdom to management in dealing with the operational and commercial affairs of the company.

Mr Hau graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Chemistry & Food Science from King’s College, University of London and subsequently obtained his in Masters in Food Technology from Reading University, UK. He joined Unilever PLC, London after graduation and gained extensive experience at management level. A close business associate of Dr Ting, Mr Hau incorporated Futek Enterprises Pte Ltd, in 1978, - a trading company exporting manufacturing equipment and packing materials to Sri Lanka, China, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Mr Hau was a member of the Board (1985-1995) for Prima Ltd, a publicly listed company in Singapore.

Mr Chua Ngak Hwee – Chief Technology Officer, Director and Founder

Mr Chua and his team co-invented the EVBP Technology with Dr Ting. He is primarily responsible for the company’s Intellectual Property, and technical and software development of the devices.

Mr Chua obtained his training and Higher Diploma from The Centre for Computer Science at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and further qualifications from the British Computer Society. He brings with him 16 years of experience in managing computer hardware and software development projects.
