Prof Bernard Yeung is new Dean of NUS Business School
The National University of Singapore has appointed Prof Bernard Yeung as the new dean of NUS Business School starting from 1 June 2008. He will hold the Stephen Riady Distinguished Professorship Chair at the Business School. Currently a chaired Professor in Economics and Management at the New York University's (NYU) Stern School of Business, and Director of NYU China House, Prof Yeung possesses broad management experience and a deep understanding of global perspectives. more

Accounting Faculty Wins Best Paper Award Asst Prof Vincent Chen from the Department of Accounting won the AFAANZ Best Paper Award at the 2008 AFAANZ/IAAER Conference in Australia. He came up tops out of the over 40 papers that was presented in the financial accounting stream. Held from from 6 - 8 July 2008 in Sydney, this conference provides an open platform to bring together scholars worldwide to present research and to stimulate discussions on new developments in business and accounting.
International finance academics and researchers discuss developments in finance More than 120 finance researchers and practitioners from all over the world converged at the 2nd Singapore International Conference on Finance on 17 and 18 July to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in finance. more
BBA Student Bags Outstanding Undergraduate Research Prize BBA student Grace Yan Weiying was awarded the Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Prize, given out by the NUS Board of Undergraduate Studies. This prize is to encourage research among undergraduates at NUS by presenting opportunities for them to participate in research while integrating teaching and research at various levels of experience and expertise. Grace's research was titled "Changes in Analysts' Recommendations: Which Signal Leads the Market?".
NUS Business School signs MOU with Mizuho Corporate Bank NUS Business School signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mizuho Corporate Bank on 15-Jul. The MOU marks the start of a strategic alliance and one of the first initiatives would be to establish the endowed Mizuho Scholarships and Bursaries. more
CPA Australia scholarship launched A $750,000 scholarship programme was launched on 9-Jul, to fund over 300 accounting students in NUS, NTU and SMU to take up the CPA programme. This scholarship is aimed at encouraging more students to join the accounting profession. more
